Tax Credit Extension

Posted to Jeremy Page

The $8,000 first time home buyer tax credit is still on the table… but per an article in US News & World Report, congress is being called by the White House to give house hunters more time to claim the tax perk. Then the Secretary of the Treasury, Tim Geithner, stated

“We welcome efforts taken by Congress to extend the first-time home buyers tax credit for a limited period.”

Lastly, the Secretary of HUD, Shaun Donovan, stated

“This credit has brought new families into the housing market & contributed to three consecutive months of rising home prices nationwide.”

So now, major parts of our Government are speaking out. Again it’s not official at all, but we can keep our fingers crossed!
